Concept Paper of Common Migration Area of CIS Member Nations Presented at Eurasian Economic Forum

The IV Eurasian Economic Forum takes place in Minsk. The event is timed to coincide with the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting with the participation of the heads of the EAEU Member States.

The main theme of the Forum is “Strategy of Eurasian Economic Integration: Results and Prospects”.

The business program includes more than 30 events, with participants from 33 countries. It covers the following areas of cooperation: finance, industry and agriculture, energy, technical regulation and veterinary medicine, development of the EAEU internal market, trade, transport, customs regulation, statistics, and more.

The central event of the Forum was a plenary session with the participation of the leaders of the EAEU countries: Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan (via videoconference), President of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev also participated in the session as an observer.

The CIS Interparliamentary Assembly was represented at the Forum by Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights Evgenia Vladimirova and Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Economy and Finance Roman Levin.

Evgenia Vladimirova addressed the roundtable “Common Labor Market: Challenges and Prospects.” She provided the audience with information about the nature and directions of updating the Concept Paper of the Common Migration Area of the CIS Member Nations and presented the main provisions of the draft Model Law on Platform Work.

The roundtable was attended by representatives of state bodies, business, trade unions, and international organizations. The presented initiatives will be further developed by the Eurasian Economic Commission in collaboration with the EAEU countries to enhance the efficiency of the common labor market.
