Issues of Strengthening Cooperation in Fight Against Terrorism and Extremism Discussed in Minsk

On 12 February, a meeting of an expert group to coordinate drafts of the Program of Cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Countering Terrorism and Extremism for 2026-2028, as well as decisions of the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers and the Council of the CIS Heads of State in this area was held.

The event was attended by experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of cooperating bodies of the Commonwealth and the CIS Executive Committee.

Among the project activities are the development of draft Model Laws on Countering Terrorist Threats Related to the Use of Radiological, Chemical and/or Biological Means and on Prevention and Elimination of Consequences of Emergency Situations Related to the Use of Radiological, Chemical and/or Biological Means.

The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Model Law-making Support Unit, Secretary of the Permanent Commission of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly on Defense and Security Issues Alexander Borisov.
