Meeting took place between Valentina Matvienko and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev

A meeting took place in Tashkent between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko .She congratulated the President on the successful holding of the 150^th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and attention to inter-parliamentary cooperation. Valentina Matvienko also spoke about the meetings with the heads of both chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva and Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismoilov. The Speaker also thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the attention given in Uzbekistan to preserving the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War and caring for veterans. The President of Uzbekistan confirmed his participation in events in Moscow dedicated to the 80^th anniversary of Victory. Valentina Matvienko noted that cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan is an example of true alliance and highlights Uzbekistan's growing role in global affairs.
