IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health Held Section at Scientific Congress “Rational Pharmacotherapy”

The XIX International Congress “Rational Pharmacotherapy” was held in St. Petersburg under the leadership of Head of the Association of Clinical Pharmacologists of St. Petersburg, Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology of the St. Petersburg Children’s Municipal Multi-Specialty Clinical Center of High Medical Technology Named after K.A. Rauhfus Alexander Hadjidis.
The IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health together with the Eurasian Cooperation on Clinical Guidelines and Development of National Health organized a section of the congress on the topic: “Development of National Evidence Bases in Health Care, Bioethics and Biosafety in the Commonwealth of Independent States”.
Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health Evgenia Vladimirova addressed the participants of the event. The expert also provided the audience with information on the activities of the IPA CIS on the formation of a model legislative framework of the Commonwealth in the field of health care.
Topical issues of increasing the level of evidence of preclinical and clinical studies of immunobiological drugs were presented in the report of RAS academician Vitaly Zverev.
Member of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health, chief freelance clinical pharmacologist of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Zurdinova highlighted topical issues of quality assessment and health care technologies in order to create methodological recommendations for the CIS countries, and also announced plans to establish in Bishkek the Association of Clinical Pharmacologists of the CIS Countries at the end of October 2024.
Member of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health, Chair of the Union of Patient Communities of Kyrgyzstan Gulmira Abdyrazakova shared information about plans to establish the Eurasian League of Patients in her report on the role of patient organizations in the provision of medicines to the population of the CIS countries. She spoke together with President of the All-Russian Public Organization “League of Patient Advocates” Alexander Saversky.
Member of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health, Director of the Medical Higher School of Russian State Social University Sergey Cherkasov delivered the final report on the topic: “The Family of International Classifications as a Basis for the Formation of National Evidence Bases in Health Care”.
Summarizing the results of the session, the moderator of the section, Deputy Chair of the Commission on Development of the Principles of Bioethics and Evidence-Based Medicine of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health, Director of the Eurasian Cooperation on Clinical Guidelines and Development of National Health Sergey Savashinsky informed the Congress participants about the fourth public expert session on the drafting of the Model Law on Medical Supplies in the CIS Member Nations, to be held 28 November 2024 in Tashkent.
This Model Law is being drafted in accordance with the Long-Term Plan for Model Law-Making in the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2023-2025.
