Igor Brilevich Appointed Coordinator of IPA CIS Observer Mission for Kazakhstan’s Kurultai Elections

Deputy Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Brilevich has been appointed Coordinator of the IPA CIS international observer mission for the elections to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan by order of Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko.

The candidacy of the Deputy Chair was put forward by the upper chamber of the Belarusian Parliament.

The observer mission will comprise representatives of the parliaments of the IPA CIS Member Nations, officials of the Assembly, and experts from the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD).

The observers will monitor the elections at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev.

The first elections to Kazakhstan’s new unicameral parliament will be held on 23 August 2026.
