Press Conference Outlines Events of IX St. Petersburg International Labour Forum

Today, a press conference ahead of the upcoming IX St. Petersburg International Labour Forum was held at TASS.
Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy took part in the event and announced that this year, the Assembly has begun updating the Concept of Common Migration Area of the CIS Member Nations. The first meeting of the working group preparing changes to this document will take place on 2 April. The main task is to reflect a modern view of labour migration in the region and to find a balance between the development of migration processes and the national interests of each state.
As part of the forum, the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights will meet at the Tavricheskiy Palace to review draft Recommendations on Training Specialists Involved in External Labour Migration.
Chair of the St. Petersburg Committee for Labour and Employment Vasiliy Ponidelko, presented other upcoming forum events.
The organizers of the forum are the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the Government of St. Petersburg, and St. Petersburg State University, with the support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation.
Bringing together experts from government, business, education, and trade unions, the forum serves as a platform to discuss the labour market, the best HR practices, state employment services, and the formation of a common labour market in the CIS.
