Heads of CIS Parliaments Adopted Number of Documents at 58th Plenary Session of IPA CIS

A number of laws in the fields of ecology, education and law were adopted at the 58^th plenary session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

The meeting was attended by parliamentary delegations from the Commonwealth countries led by Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sagiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova, Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev, Speaker of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustami Emomali,  Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva.

The event was also attended by Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security of Mazhilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aigul Kuspan, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy and  Secretary General of the CIS Sergey Lebedev.

Among the documents adopted by the Assembly today are:

• Model law on Radioactive Waste Management;
• Model law on Artificial Intelligence Technologies;
• Model Law on Agreements for Transfer of Property for Use;
• Model Law on State Cadastral Valuation;
• Model Law on Obligations arising from the public promise of a reward, public Competition, Games and Betting;
• amendments to the Model Educational Code for the CIS member Countries (General part). The aspect of digitalization.

In addition, the chapter “Transport Tax” of the Special Part of the Model Tax Code for the CIS member countries was adopted, and the chapters “Property Tax” and “Land Tax” of the Special Part of the Model Tax Code for the CIS member countries were adopted in a new version.

Model laws and recommendations will be sent to the parliaments of the IPA CIS Member Nations for implementation in national legislation.

Thus, a total of 714 model laws and other documents were developed and adopted by the Assembly.

By the decision of the IPA CIS Council, the medal of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States "For Strengthening Parliamentary Cooperation" was awarded to Aigul Kuspan, Head of the Analytics and Election Monitoring Department of the IPA CIS IIMDD Roman Amburtsev, Head of the Expert and Analytical Department of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Denis Zhuk.
