Lilia Gumerova Spoke at Opening of First Children’s Delphic Games of CIS Member States

The First Children’s Delphic Games of CIS Member States opened in Bishkek. 500 young talents from all the Commonwealth countries will compete in eleven nominations of classical, folk and modern arts, as well as in the festival programme.

Greetings to the organizers and participants of the event were sent by President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education, Chair of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova spoke at the opening of the Games. She noted that they provided a unique opportunity to see the future stars of classical art and folk art of the Commonwealth countries already today.

She conveyed words of greetings to the participants and organizers of the event from Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko.

Lilia Gumerova stressed that the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States had been supporting the Delphic Games, the highest forum of arts, for many years. They were aimed at preserving and developing national cultures, encouraging intercultural dialogue, strengthening ties between the CIS countries and supporting the professional growth of young cultural figures. The Commission also considered it necessary and important to organize the Delphic Games for children.

The First Children’s Delphic Games will be held until 5 October in the leading cultural and educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic. Nominations of the competition programme include: piano, violin, classical guitar, fine arts, pop singing, folk dance, art reading, DJ. The festival programme includes performances on folk instruments, demonstrations of artistic crafts and songs in sign language.
