Mountain Tourism in CIS Becomes Theme of Travel HUB «Commonwealth» Forum in Dagestan

Experts from CIS Member Nations will discuss development of mountain and ecological tourism and sustainable development of mountain territories at the international tourism forum Travel HUB «Commonwealth», to be held in the Republic of Dagestan, 1–3 October 2025.
Other topics on the forum’s business agenda include interregional and international cooperation in tourism, collaboration on hotel industry development and improving hospitality quality, and education and training of personnel in tourism and creative industries.
The event is organised under the auspices of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. It will take place within the framework of the Year of Mountain Tourism in the Commonwealth of Independent States and will bring together representatives of executive and legislative authorities, business communities, professional associations, educational institutions, and media from CIS Member Nations and other countries .
Travel HUB «Commonwealth» has been held since 2020. In 2024, the forum was held for the first time in an offsite format in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Recommendations developed during that forum are intended to support tourism development and strengthen interstate cooperation for implementation of sustainable practices in hospitality and tourism across the CIS .
In its recommendations, the Council on Tourism of CIS Member Nations encouraged tourism authorities and interested organisations in the region to regard the Travel HUB «Commonwealth» international tourism project as a platform for cooperation and joint work in tourism and hospitality, and for creation and promotion of interstate tourist projects and routes across the Commonwealth.
