St. Petersburg will host the 14th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies

On 15–16 May 2017, the 14th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies will take place in the Tavrichesky Palace in St. Petersburg – the headquarters of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The Conference will be dedicated to enhancing the efficiency of electoral management bodies as a key element of the democratic electoral process. The key focus will be on the structure electoral management bodies, as well as on various aspects of their activities.
The plenary sessions will consider the issues of improving the legislative framework for elections and referenda, as well as issues related to developing uniform standards of their conduct. Prospects for further development of the electoral process will be discussed based on the examples of the elections held in 2016.
