International Cooperation, Cultural Heritage, New Technologies: Plenary Session of Forum “Commonwealth of Fashion” held

The plenary session of the IV International Forum “Commonwealth of Fashion” was held in the Tavricheskiy Palace.

The meeting was moderated by Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Inna Svyatenko and Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy.

Greetings to the participants of the forum were sent by Secretary General of the CIS Sergey Lebedev and President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin.

Inna Svyatenko spoke about the intense program of the “Commonwealth of Fashion” Forum. For the first time, the topics of sports fashion, technical textiles, artificial intelligence in light industry, infrastructure of creative industries and intellectual property issues were presented.

“Today, the creative economy is not an auxiliary sphere, but a full – fledged driver of development, influencing regional strategies, the formation of new production chains, personnel policy, exports, the cultural environment and international cooperation,” the Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council emphasized.

The IV Forum, according to the Deputy Speaker, once again confirmed that the Commonwealth states have significant potential to work together in the formation of industrial cooperation, the creation of new standards, the development of educational programs and the promotion of cultural projects.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy summed up the results of the forum. In three days, it confirmed its main purpose – to be a platform in the Commonwealth space, where the state agenda, economy, culture, and technology find common ground for the development of light industry and creative industries.

“Today, our countries face the task of not only developing these industries, but also bringing them to a new technological level, while not forgetting about their roots, about the cultural heritage that we carefully pass on from generation to generation.”

According to him, the CIS countries have everything they need to achieve this goal: strong artistic and craft traditions, a powerful production base, competent technologists and designers, talented new generation designers and a growing interest in national brands within the region.

According to the Secretary General, special attention should be paid to the training of young specialists.

“We saw a lot of talented young professionals in the field of creative industries and light industry. This is a generation that confidently works with heritage, but thinks globally and technologically. We are obliged to create conditions for their development – from competitions, grants and internships to integration into production processes,” Dmitriy Kobitskiy said.

The IV international forum “Commonwealth of Fashion” brought together over 2,500 participants from more than 30 countries. The forum included the Youth day, fashion shows from designers from Russian regions and CIS countries, a lawn tennis tournament, and an award ceremony. Also a free hybrid accelerator “Project Management in creative Industries: brand management” was organized.
