IPA CIS International Observers Continue Long-Term Monitoring of Elections in Republic of Tajikistan

On 22 September 2020, the IPA CIS Observer Group visited the district election commission №7, located in Tursunzade, where they met with Chairperson of the district election commission Hotam Nazarzoda and other members of the commission. Together with the Head of district election commission №7, the observers visited the precinct election commission №12, located in the secondary school №78.

Furthermore, the IPA CIS observers visited the headquarters of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan, where they met with Deputy Chairperson of the party Khayrinisso Yusufi, as well as personnel of the central office of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan Makhmadullo Naimov and Hamidien Imonzoda.

On the evening of 22 September 2020, a series of meetings with candidates for the President of the Republic of Tajikistan ended with a conversation with the candidate from the Communist Party of Tajikistan, Leader of the Communist Party of Tajikistan Miroj Abdulloyev. He spoke about the features of his party’s electoral campaign, including interaction with representatives of print and electronic media.
