IPA CIS Observers: Referendum in Kyrgyzstan Complied with National Legislation and International Standards

Based on the results of the monitoring, the IPA CIS international observers came to a conclusion that the referendum on the draft law on the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic held on 11 April 2021 was held in accordance with the national legislation and the country’s commitments on the international standards of holding democratic elections.

The Team included 54 MPs from eight IPA CIS countries, as well as the IIMDD IPA CIS representatives and experts. The IPA CIS observers visited 78 polling stations in Bishkek and settlements of the Chuy region. They observed the polling stations before their opening, during their work and tabulation of results. The IPA CIS observers also took park in the monitoring of the voting on 13 of 48 foreign polling stations opened in the diplomatic missions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
