Leadership of IPA CIS Council Secretariat Met with CEC of Russia

Today, the leadership of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat met with the Head of the CEC of the Russian Federation.

The meeting was attended by Secretary General – Head of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council – Director of the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD) Ivan Mushket and Advisor to the Secretary General Sergey Karavayev.

The CEC of Russia was represented at the meeting by Chair of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova, her deputy Nikolai Bulaev, CEC member Pavel Andreev, as well as Head of the Department for Interaction with Political Parties and International Cooperation Olga Golovanova and adviser to the Department of International Cooperation Yuriy Demyanenko.

The meeting discussed issues of the preparation for the joint international reserch and practice conference “CIS Convention on Standards for Democratic Elections: Open Space for International Cooperation” to be held in October this year in the Tavricheskiy Palace – the IPA CIS headquarters that is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of signing the Convention on Standards for Democratic Elections, Electoral Rights and Freedoms in the CIS Member States.

At the end of the meeting, Dmitriy Kobitskiy and Ivan Mushket were awarded medals of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation “For Assistance in Organizing Elections.”
