CIS MPs Considered Future Directions of Law-making in Field of Protection Against Harmful Information, E-Sports and Media in Digital Environment

On 27 October 2022, a meeting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport took place at the Congress Center of the International Tourist Center the Great Silk Road in Samarkand.

Members of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan took part in the meeting of the Commission. Chair of the Commission, Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Science, Education, Culture and Sport Erkin Zakhidov presided over event.

At the beginning of the event, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy welcomed the members of the Commission.

The Commission members discussed the directions for development of legislation in the field of digitalization of culture, tourism and sports. The experts agreed that the improvement of the model legislation on the protection of children from information harmful to their health and development, about e-sports, as well as legislation on personal data was a priority. Representatives of the CIS parliaments also considered the draft of the revised CIS Model Code of Intellectual Property, as well as a number of model laws.
