MPs and Experts Presented Proposals for CIS Model Law-Making in Field of Science and Education

Today, the second meeting of the IPA CIS Board of Experts on Science and Education established in 2020 took place in a mixed format in the Tavricheskiy Palace – the IPA CIS headquarters.

The event brought together the MPs from the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as academics, experts and representatives of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by Chair of the Board of Experts, Rector of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Rudskoi.

The meeting participants discussed the draft recommendations on the normative regulation of digitalization in the field of education and the “Measures to Identify and Support Talented Children and Youth”. The members of the board were invited to join their development.

The Parliament of the Republic of Armenia submitted its proposals on model law-making to the Board of Experts. These include the promotion and support of scientific and educational initiatives, the formation of an effective communication system in the field of science, education, technology and innovation, the interaction of higher education with the state and labor market.

According to Head of the department of the Secretariat of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on Social Issues, Health Protection, Science, Education, Culture, Politics among Youth and Women Solekh Nosirzoda, such areas as the use of space and nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, exploration and management of natural resources, biotechnology, climate change, disaster risk reduction deserve particular attention.

The members of the Board of Experts took note of the received information and decided to submit to the IPA CIS Council Secretariat the proposals on the draft Recommendations on Promising Areas of Model Law-Making in the Field of Science and Education and proposals for the Long-Term Plan for Model Law-Making in the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2023–2025.
