CIS Convention on Cross-Regional Cooperation Discussed in Tashkent

On 10 September 2020, the 9th meeting of the CIS Advisory Board on Inter-Regional and Trans-Border Cooperation was held in Tashkent. The agenda included the issues of addressing the negative impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the various sectors of economy of the CIS countries, the state of inter-regional and trans-border cooperation and the participation of the chambers of commerce and industry in its development. The participants also discussed the perspectives of holding the Forums of CIS Regions in 2021.

The event was attended by the representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the CIS Executive Committee, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Council of the CIS Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Practices of State-Building and Local Government Elena Fominenko held a report on the CIS Convention on Cross-Regional Cooperation.
