IPU Secretary General Commended Cooperation with IPA CIS

On 13 March, during the 146th IPU Assembly the IPA CIS delegation met with IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong.
The IPA CIS delegation is represented by member of the Permanent Commission on Legal Issues, member of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Chulliev and Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy. During the meeting, they told about the current activities of the IPA CIS.
Meanwhile, Martin Chungong proposed to develop cooperation, in particular in the spheres of environment, climate change, and universal coverage of healthcare services. The IPU Secretary General commended cooperation between the two organizations and expressed a willingness to participate in joint initiatives. Dmitriy Kobitskiy invited the IPU Secretary General to take part in the “St. Petersburg is the Parliamentary Capital of the Commonwealth” International Forum and in the X Nevsky International Ecological Congress, which will be held in May 2023 in St. Petersburg.
