Peoples of Belarus and Russia celebrate the Day of Unity

On 2 April 1996, the leaders of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus officially agreed on establishing the Community of Russia and Belarus followed by the creation of the Union of Belarus and Russia a year later. 2 April was dubbed the Day of Unity of the peoples of Belarus and Russia.

Each year the celebrations include official events and gatherings.
