Uzbek Senators Approved Amendments to Legislation in Field of Maintaining Public Order

Today, at the 19th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the members of the chamber discussed and approved a number of legal acts.

In particular, the senators adopted the Law on Introducing Amendments and Additions to Certain Legal Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Connection with the Improvement of the Anti-Corruption System in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It is expected that the adoption of the law will contribute to the further improvement of regulations governing anti-corruption activities, suppression of any manifestations of corruption in society and increase in the effectiveness of countering it.

In addition, the senators amended the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Liability in terms of strengthening measures for resisting a representative of authority or a person performing a civil duty.

According to the press service of the chamber, the amendments establish conditions for the unimpeded implementation of activities not only of the law enforcement officials and officers of the National Guard, but also of other authorities by increasing responsibility for resisting or obstructing the performance of their official duties.
