Zinaida Greceanii and Oleg Vasnetsov Discussed Issues of Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation

Today, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov. The parties discussed different areas of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation, including the inter-parliamentary cooperation.
One of the key issues of the meeting was the coordination of efforts on combating the COVID-19 infection and providing assistance to the citizens of both countries in a difficult situation. Zinaida Greceanii noted that despite the impact of the coronavirus on the cooperation between the countries on the bilateral and international level, the strategic character of the Moldovan-Russian engagement, the friendship between the peoples and the interest of the Moldovan authorities in the further strengthening of relations remain constant.
The participants also discussed the activity of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, including the work of the MPs within the parliamentary commission after the end of the Spring-Summer session of 2020.
In addition, the parties considered other relevant issues of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation and favoured the further development and enhancing of Moldovan-Russian interaction in all areas.
