Council of CIS Heads of Government Adopted a Number of Documents on Various Areas of Cooperation Across Commonwealth

Today, a regular meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government was held via videoconferencing under the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of the Azerbaijan Republic Ali Asadov, Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Muhammetguly Mukhammedov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev.

The participants exchanged views on relevant issues of economic cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States and on strengthening cooperation among the CIS countries in countering sanctions policy.

Further, the participants were informed on the Plan of Priority Actions for the Implementation of the CIS Strategy on Information Security until 2030.

At the meeting, the Agreement on the Exchange of Biological Material was signed. The document is designed to promote cooperation and mutual assistance of the relevant authorities of the CIS Member Nations in the exchange of biological material, to improve laboratory diagnostics of especially dangerous animal diseases and prevention of the spread of infectious animal diseases across the Commonwealth.

The participants approved the amendments to the Agreement on the Creation of a Common Scientific and Technological Space, adopted the CIS Concept of Cooperation on the Further Development of Viticulture and Winemaking and the Action Plan for its Implementation, the Package of Measures to Ensure the Biological Safety of Genetic Material in the Reproduction of Farm Animals until 2026 and considered a number of other issues.

According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, it was decided to hold the next meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government in November in Nur-Sultan.
