Implementation of “Healthy Cities” Project Discussed in St. Petersburg

On 10 March, a session of the Coordinating Council on the Implementation of the World Health Organization Healthy Cities Project took place in St. Petersburg. During the meeting, strategies on non-infectious diseases prevention, sanitary and epidemiological safety of atmospheric air in St. Petersburg, biological threats in a modern metropolis were discussed.
Representatives of the relevant ministries, organizations, public associations, and employees of medical organizations took part in the session chaired by Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Oleg Ergashev.
The IPA CIS was presented by Secretary of the Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Expert Council on Healthcare Evgenia Vladimirova. She emphasized that the global movement of the World Health Organization Healthy Cities Project has been actively developing in the CIS.
