Women get together in the Tavricheskiy Palace to make a difference in the world

The Conference was opened by the Rector of the SPB Institute of Social Sciences Yelena Kalinkina after a musical ouverture Gloria Civite Magnificate. She welcomed the participants of the Conference and wished them every success. Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko sent her welcoming address. It is symbolic that the Conference takes place in the Tavricheskiy Palace where so many CIS gender-related model laws originated and found their way into national laws of the CIS Member Nations.

The delegates intend to discuss the challenge of combining work and family in today’s social environment, issue related to the economic and cultural integration, nation-building and gender equality.
