Meeting of CIS Advisory Board on Youth Affairs Held in Youth Capital of Armenia

On 11 October, a meeting of the CIS Advisory Board on Youth Affairs kicked off in the Armenian city of Kapan. The meeting focused on the issues of development of legal framework of state youth policy. The meeting participants also discussed the results of the Forum “Children of the Commonwealth”, which was held this year in St. Petersburg, and the progress of preparation for the CIS Youth Interparliamentary Forum, scheduled for 2022.

The meeting was attended by members of the Council – representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the representatives of the CIS basic organizations for work with youth and the development of youth entrepreneurship, as well as the CIS Executive Committee. The Youth CIS Interparliamentary Assembly was represented by Executive Secretary of the YIPA CIS Margarita Safarova.

As a result of the discussions, it was proposed that the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly drafts the Recommendations on the Improvement and Harmonization of the National Legislations of the CIS Member Nations on State Youth Policy.

The Council members also reported on the implementation of the Action Plan for 2021-2022 on the implementation of the Strategy for CIS International Youth Cooperation until 2030 and the Concept for the Development of CIS Cooperation in Support of the Youth Volunteering.

The Council members were presented with the draft concept of the Recommendations on Measures to Identify and Support Talented Children and Youth, which is being developed jointly by the YIPA CIS and the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education.

The meeting participants also discussed the preparation of a joint sociological research to survey the situation of young people, the opportunities and prospects of working with the youth through the policy of defining the CIS youth capitals, considered the activities of the CIS basic organization for the development of youth entrepreneurship.
