IPA CIS Invited to Observe Parliamentary Elections in Armenia

A letter addressed to the Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, has been received from the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan.
The letter contains an invitation for a delegation of the IPA CIS to take part in international observation of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia.
“The authorities of the Republic of Armenia are committed to holding elections in accordance with democratic norms and standards, in the spirit of the principles of freedom, fairness, and transparency,” the letter states.
The elections to the National Assembly are scheduled for June 7, 2026.
