Marlen Mamataliev met with Compatriots in St. Petersburg

Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Marlen Mamataliyev, together with members of parliament who participated in the spring session of the IPA CIS, held a meeting with representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora, business community, labor migrants, and students.
The Speaker of Parliament spoke about the transformations and reforms being implemented in Kyrgyzstan as a result of the consistent policies of the country’s leadership. He emphasized that the government pays special attention to migration issues, support for compatriots living abroad, and the improvement of their social and legal well-being.
It was noted that the Russian Federation is home not only to labor migrants but also to students, business representatives, cultural figures, and professionals whose experience, knowledge, and ideas are of great importance for the further development of Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, participants discussed a wide range of issues related to migration policy, social protection, education, culture, transportation, and economic cooperation.
Particular attention was also given to career guidance for school students, the development of vocational education in Kyrgyzstan, and the training of 10th- and 11th-grade students in skilled trades. Participants discussed the possibility of issuing professional certificates alongside secondary school diplomas, which would create additional opportunities for young people to secure legal employment abroad.
In addition, issues concerning mandatory health insurance for migrants and their children were discussed.
Representatives of the Kyrgyz community proposed strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation, organizing Kyrgyz Culture Days, expanding academic exchange programs, and supporting youth creative initiatives.
Special attention was devoted to preserving cultural heritage.
Marlen Mamataliyev noted that the outcome of the discussion should be the development of practical recommendations and initiatives aimed at improving legislation and addressing the pressing concerns of citizens.
The meeting was also attended by deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurbek Satvaldiyev.
