Business Programme of 10th Nevsky Ecological Congress Published

The official website of the 10^th Nevsky International Ecological Congress published the business programme of the event. The main topic of the Congress is “Ecology: a Right, Not a Privilege”. The event will be held on 25-26 May in the IPA CIS headquarters in the Tavricheskiy Palace in St-Petersburg.

The main objective of the Nevsky International Ecological Congress is to provide a constructive dialogue and contribute to the formation of the international system of ecological security. This year the Congress will bring together only 900 delegates in full-time format. Representatives of more than 40 countries have already confirmed their participation in the event.

The Youth Day organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and Rosatom State Atomiс Energy Corporation will be held on 24 May on the site of cultural quarter “Brusnitsyn” on the eve of the Congress opening.

The topics to be discussed at the business program round tables on 25 May will be: emissions reduction and search of efficient measures to fight climate changes; development of digital ecological monitoring in Russia; national projects and programs on ecological tourism; water and forest resources preservation; ecological research and prevention of negative consequences of the Arctic and Antarctic resources development as well as development of Russian market of organic products and formation of healthy life style culture.

The key event of the business programme of the 10^th Nevsky International Ecological Congress will be the plenary session “Human and the Planet: Are They Compatible?” which will be headed by Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Valentina Matvienko and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko.

During the 10^th Nevsky International Ecological Congress Saint-Petersburg will become the venue for a number of environmental actions.

During the Congress eco-cleanup campaigns will be launched in 50 Russian regions on 26 May. Organizers of the 10^th Anniversary Nevsky International Ecological Congress are the Government of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the IPA CIS and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, the operator of the preparation and holding the event - Roscongress Foundation.
