Andrey Yatskin Kicked off Business Program of XI Nevsky International Ecological Congress

On 22 May, the XI Nevsky International Ecological Congress kicked off at the Tavricheskiy Palace. The slogan of the current Congress was “Planet Earth: Harmony of Man and Nature”.

The organizers of the Congress were the Government of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS countries.

On behalf of the organizers, First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Yatskin welcomed and wished successful work to the participants and guests of the Congress in St. Petersburg, the city that these days has become not only the cultural but also the ecological capital of Russia.

The Congress brought together more than 1200 participants, including heads of legislative and executive authorities, representatives of Russian and international environmental organizations, business circles, educational and research institutions, mass media and public associations.
