1668 Students From CIS Countries Applied to Participate in Olympiad in Humanities

The qualifying stage of the International Olympiad in Humanities and Social Sciences for schoolchildren from CIS countries ended. 1668 people from nine CIS countries registered to participate in the competition.

The most applications were received from children from the Russian Federation (1146 people), the Republic of Kazakhstan (277 people) and the Kyrgyz Republic (215 people).


The main objective of the Olympiad is to promote knowledge about the principles of democratic development of modern society, parliamentarism and human rights.

The decision to hold the International Olympiad in Humanities and Social Sciences for schoolchildren from CIS countries was made by the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. The project is being implemented on the initiative of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), co-organized by the Herzen Sate Pedagogical University of Russia, Saratov State Law Academy, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
