IPA CIS Observers to Monitor Election of President of Russian Federation

The IPA CIS received a letter from Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin inviting the IPA CIS International Observers to monitor the election of the President of the Russian Federation to be held on 17 March 2024.

The IPA CIS Council Secretariat started to form a monitoring group, which will include the IPA CIS MPs, the IPA CIS staff members and the IPA CIS IIMDD experts.

As of today, the following candidates are registered: Vladislav Davankov (candidate of the “New People” Party), incumbent President Vladimir Putin (independent candidate), Leonid Slutsky (candidate of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia), Nikolay Kharitonov (candidate of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation). According to the plan of the CEC of Russia, the list of candidates to be included in the ballot will be published on 10 February. 

Voting in the upcoming election of the President of the Russian Federation will be possible at polling stations, as well as via the Remote electronic voting system (REV) or the “Mobile voter” application in some regions. Registration for voting via the REV is open from 29 January to 11 March.
