NIEC Organizing Committee Held Meeting to Discuss Forum Programme

On 16 March, a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the X Nevsky International Ecological Congress was held in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Under the leadership of First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Yatskin and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov participants discussed the NIEC Programme.
The Organizing Committee is co-chaired by Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko.
According to Andrei Yatskin, since the last meeting of the Organizing Committee in November a lot of organizational work had been done: the architecture of the Congress, its programme and the programme of all related and special activities.
In particular, there will be an exhibition, youth day, fashion shows of clothes made of recycled materials, premiere screening of a documentary about the circular economy, start of eco-cleanup campaigns, Green Van recycling workshop and eco-race.
At the meeting, the IPA CIS Secretariat was represented by Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Sergey Kurdin.
The X Nevsky International Ecological Congress will be held on 25-26 May 2023. The main topic of the Congress this year is “Ecology: a right, not a privilege”.
