Bilateral Meetings of Parliamentary Leaders Took Place on Sidelines of X Nevsky International Ecological Congress

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko held a meeting with Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva, during which the parties noted the important role of the IPA CIS in the law-making activities of parliamentarians of the CIS countries.
A meeting between Valentina Matvienko and Speaker of Majlisi of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova also took place on the sidelines of the Congress.
Valentina Matvienko stressed that Russia and Turkmenistan are traditionally linked by warm and friendly relations and noted productivity and effectiveness of cooperation between parliamentarians of the CIS countries within the IPA CIS.
Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy took part in the meetings.
Valentina Matvienko also met with First Vice-President of the Senate of the National Assembly of Thailand Singsuk Singpai, Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Khac Dinh and President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Nenad Stevandic.
First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Andrey Yatskin held a series of bilateral meetings with foreign participants.
During the meeting with Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Khac Dinh, Andrey Yatskin noted that the parliamentary dialogue between the supreme legislative bodies of Russia and Vietnam is an integral part and important component of bilateral cooperation.
Strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation was the main topic of the meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Council of Representatives of the Regions of the People’s Congress of the Republic of Indonesia Nono Sampono.
Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education, Chair of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova took part in the meeting.
During the meeting with First Vice-President of the Senate of the National Assembly of Thailand Singsuk Singpai, Andrey Yatskin noted that Thailand is the oldest partner of Russia in Southeast Asia.
The organizers of the 10th Anniversary Nevsky International Ecological Congress were the Government of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the IPA CIS and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation.
