Zhakyp Asanov Appointed Coordinator of IPA CIS Observer Group at Presidential Elections in Azerbaijan

By the order of Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Deputy Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhakyp Asanov was appointed coordinator of the IPA CIS International Observers group at the extraordinary presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
His candidacy was nominated by the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the moment, a group of observers is being formed from representatives of parliaments of IPA CIS Member Nations, the IPA CIS officials and experts of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD).
The IPA CIS International Observers will take part in the monitoring of the extraordinary presidential elections at the invitation of Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Sahiba Gafarova.
The extraordinary presidential elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for 7 February 2024.
