Participants of the international forum Children of the Commonwealth shared their views on education policy with the IPA CIS Council

The Memorandum focused on the need to foster the role of new student communities in public context, to protect private freedoms, and to develop student leadership at schools and freedom of choices.

It also stressed promoting creativity, e. g. through removal of credits and scores system, making knowledge the only stimulus for students, and transition to a new portfolio approach helping each student accumulate his or her own success and records.

The Memorandum stressed three basic values of education – transfer of experience from teachers and parents; professional and skilled young people enjoying decent life-styles; children aware of tradition and integrity.

Besides it proposed measures to tackle extremism and abuse among the young, including in social media and to promote family as social institution.
