How to Ensure National Security Discussed at International Conference

The 11th All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation titled “Current Issues of Ensuring National Security” was held at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
The conference was attended by Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), Doctor of Law, Professor Ivan Mushket. He highlighted the growing importance of information-related threats, including cybersecurity, protection of critical infrastructure, and countering disinformation.
Ivan Mushket emphasized the vulnerability of the education system as a key factor in shaping societal values and pointed to attempts to discredit national electoral systems amid hybrid warfare. To counter these threats, electoral authorities are increasing public awareness efforts and ensuring transparency of electoral procedures.
He also spoke about the meeting of the Tavricheskiy discussion club held on 16 December, which focused on the role of artificial intelligence in electoral processes.
The conference was also attended by Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education Tatyana Baranova.
