CIS Young MPs Spoke About Prevention of Information Threats Among Young People

On 16 November 2023, a session of the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Bishkek. The main topic of the session was the discussion of the CIS information youth safety.

Representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the session.

YIPA CIS Coordinator, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on State and Legal Affairs Lilit Minasyan opened the session and shared the results of the YIPA's work over the past two years.

The chairmanship of the Youth Assembly passed from Armenia to Belarus.

Experience of the Kyrgyz Republic in youth parlamentarism development will be presented by Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy Dastan Bekeshev and Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Tagaev.

Representatives of youth parliamentary delegations from the Commonwealth countries made presentations on the review issue.

Director of the Centre for Analysis and Prevention of Information Threats among Youth Evgeny Borisov told the representatives about the activities of the Centre.

In the end of his speech Evgeny Borisov invited the participants of the meeting to cooperate with the Center.

At the last session, the young MPs came up with an initiative to hold the International Youth Translation Competition timed to coincide with the Year of the Russian Language as a Language of Interethnic Communication in the CIS. Dean of Higher School of International Relations and World Politics of Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod Svetlana Kolobova announced the detailed terms of the competition.

YIPA decided to ask the IPA CIS Council to consider the awarding of the honorary badge of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly For Contribution to International Youth Cooperation” to Member of the Committee of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Social and Cultural Development Yelnur Beisenbayev and Head of the CIS Executive Committee Department for Cooperation in the Field of Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the CIS Council for Youth Affairs Tatyana Kovaleva.

Tomorrow young MPs will take part in the 56th plenary session of the IPA CIS.
