Draft Model Law on Medical Supplies in CIS Countries to be Discussed in Bishkek

On 14 November, Bishkek will host the second international expert session “Efficiency and Availability of Medicines: from Technologies and Evidence Base to Patient”, where they will consider the development of a Model law on Medical Supplies in the CIS Member Nations.

Experts will discuss the problems of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of viral hepatitis B and C, HIV, rare diseases, as well as analyze the factors limiting the effectiveness and implementation of new treatment technologies in modern diabetology in the CIS countries.

The session will be attended by representatives of parliaments, sectoral international organizations and academic community of the Commonwealth, members of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health.

The session in Bishkek will be the second in a cycle of special public sessions dedicated to the most important aspects of medical care and discussion of the Model law on Medical Supplies in the CIS Member Nations. The first international conference in the format of a public expert session on the development of the same Model law was held on 30 June 2023 in Minsk.

The meeting addressed the issues of medical supplies with immunobiological preparations, rational use of medicines in the treatment of oncological diseases.

The cycle of sessions in the CIS countries is organized by the IPA CIS together with the Eurasian Cooperation on Clinical Guidelines and Development of National Health with the support of the CIS Executive Committee and the World Health Organization.
