MPs Discussed Draft Model Law on Protection Health of Citizens from Exposure to Environmental Tobacco Smoke in Minsk.

An additional meeting of expert group to coordinate the draft Plan of joint actions of the CIS Members Nations on preventing the negative impact of tobacco and other nicotine-containing products on the health of the population was held in Minsk.

Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health Evgenia Vladimirova and Representative of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat at the CIS Executive Committee Igor Borovko took part in the meeting.

Evgenia Vladimirova informed the participants of the meeting about the progress of work on the draft Model law on Protection the Health of Citizens from the Harmful Effects of Environmental Tobacco Smoke and Effects of Tobacco and Other Nicotine-containing Products Consumption.

The experts considered the comments to the draft Plan received from the Armenian, Belarusian and Russian parties, finalized and agreed the draft document.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to send the materials of the meeting for internal approval.
