Vice-Seaker, Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, meets PACE Rapporteur on Kyrgyzstan

Yesterday, Asiya Sasykbaeva, Vice-Speaker, met with Andreas Gross, PACE Rapporteur on Kyrgyzstan. She stressed the importance of Partner for Democracy status for Kyrgyzstan in terms of strengthening and development of democratic institutions and civil society.
Andrea Gross noted that the CE will continue its cooperation with Kyrgyzstan adding that granting of this status to Kyrgyzstan is under consideration.
Kyrgyzstan’s application for Partner for Democracy status was accepted by the CE Bureau on 24 November 2011. The decision regarding the status is expected to follow in April 2014 at the PACE session.
