On Labour Forum Vectors of Migration Processes Regulation to be Discussed

 TASS hosted a press-conference devoted to VIII Saint-Petersburg International Labour Forum co-organized by the IPA CIS.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy took part in the event. The Forum will be opened by the international conference “The Concept of Common Migration Area of the CIS Member Nations: Common Principles ans National Interests” which will be held on 20February in the Tavricheskiy Palace.

According to the Secretary General, the main goal of the event will be discussion and production of approaches to prepare a new edition of the Concept of the Common Migration Areaof the CIS Member Nations. The national migration policy significantly changes in many countries of the world. There is the transformation of regulation mechanisms of migration processes including legislation.

Within the framework of the Labour forum, experts discussed the project of the model Migration Code of the CIS Member Nations. The Secretary General stressed that the document was adopted and used by legislators of the CIS countries that day.

The Chair of the Committee for Labour and Employment of St. Petersburg Dmitriy Cherneiko said that the theme of this year's forum was ”Labour, Employment, Human Capital: New Challenges and Solutions”.

According to the head of the Committee, the labour market has become very complex, completely new forms of employment have emerged, the industry is rapidly digitalizing. This requires discussion, analysis, formation of new approaches, which is what the forum will be devoted to. In addition to representatives of various regions of Russia and Commonwealth countries, the forum will be attended by experts from Southeast Asian countries and, for the first time, delegates from the African region.

The Saint-Petersburg International Labor Forum is the largest discussion platform in Eurasia, where the whole range of labor market and economic issues is considered.

On 20-22 February delegates will be hosted by three venues: Tavricheskiy Palace, GSOM SPbU Campus “Mikhailovskaya Dacha” of and CEC Expoforum.
