Photo Exhibition Dedicated to 100th Anniversary of Heydar Aliyev Opened in Tavricheskiy Palace

The opening ceremony of the photo exhibitions dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace – the IPA CIS headquarters. The exhibition was presented by Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy. He noted that thanks to Heydar Aliyev’s political talent Azerbaijan has established itself as a prosperous state.
The exhibition has photos from different years. They show Heydar Aliyev during his work in the party and government structures of Soviet Azerbaijan, in the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee and the Council of Ministers of the USSR, in the parliament and as president. There are family photos, photos with high-profile politicians and ordinary people.
The ceremony was also attended by Consul General of the Azerbaijan Republic in St. Petersburg Sultan Gasimov, Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Igor Musalimov and Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Irina Sokolova.
The exhibition was first presented in the upper chamber of the Russian parliament in May. The first audience was Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Sahiba Gafarova, who paid an official visit to Moscow.
The exhibition is organized with the support of the Administration of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, news agencies and state archives of Azerbaijan and Russia.
