The document reflects the proposals of representatives of authorities, international organizations, scientific and business circles. About 500 people from 14 countries, including eight CIS countries, took part in the discussion.

Resolution notes the role of the Forum as “an important platform for discussion of the problems of mountain regions of the Commonwealth and the whole world”. The experts support the initiative to hold the forum on a regular basis.

Forum “Sustainable Development of Mountain Territories” was organized by the IPA CIS, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Geographical Society.

The Travel Hub “Commonwealth” was a part of the Forum. At the strategic session “Tourism in Mountain Regions of the Commonwealth Countries: Challenges and Prospects”, experts proposed to draft a Model Law on the Mountain Tourism in the Commonwealth countries, which would allow to make international tourist routes “seamless” and to increase tourist flows while preserving the integrity of mountain ecosystems.
