IPA CIS Observers Met With Lidia Ermoshina

The IPA CIS Observer Team headed by Coordinator, Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Government and Northern Affairs Oleg Melnichenko met with Chairperson of the Central Commission of the Republic of Belarus on Elections and Holding Republican Referenda Lidia Ermoshina.

Lidia Ermoshina told the observers about the progress of the current electoral campaign. Oleg Melnichenko reported on the work done and stressed that the Team would provide an impartial assessment of the electoral campaign based on the objective monitoring in accordance with the standards of international observation.

The parties discussed the particularities of the early voting, which helps reduce epidemiologic risks and allows more people to vote.

The participants also exchanged opinions on the prospects of e-voting.
