National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia
Originally established on 28 May 1918, at the declaration of independence. On 24 August 1991, the Supreme Soviet of Armenia was transformed into the National Assembly with first elections held on 5 July 1995.

Mandate: MPs are elected for a term of four years within a majoritarian through general, equal, free, direct elections with personal and secret ballot on party lists. Eligibility is 25 years for citizens with five years continued residence in Armenia entitled to participate in balloting.
