IPA CIS Observers Met with Leadership of Senate of Parliament of Republic of Kazakhstan and Participants of Election Race

On 17 March, the IPA CIS international observers met with Deputy Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olga Perepechina.

During the meeting, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy told that 61 IPA CIS international observers of the upcoming elections included CIS MPs, IPA CIS IIMDD experts and IPA CIS Council Secretariat staff members.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy informed the Kazakh senators that the IPA CIS IIMDD experts had analyzed the legislation of the Kazakhstan regulating the conduct of parliamentary elections and concluded that it complied with international standards. The experts’ report on the analysis and the report of the team on long-term monitoring of the preparation of the elections were given to the Senate leadership.

Olga Perepechina commended the IPA CIS role in integration processes across the CIS and development of diversified cooperation between the countries in the region.

On 17 March, the IPA CIS international observers also held a meeting with leaderships and representatives of the “Auyl” People’s Patriotic Democratic Party of Kazakhstan and the Aq Jol Democratic Party of Kazakhstan. The parties discussed the election race.
