IPA CIS Observers Visited Central Referendum Commission (CRC) of Republic of Kazakhstan

International observers from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, led by the Team Coordinator visited the Central Referendum Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where they met with its Speaker Nurlan Abdirov and other members of the Commission as part of the short-term monitoring of the referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Representatives of the Central Referendum Commission spoke about the work done, including in the field of training and creating necessary conditions for people with disabilities and noted sufficient funding provided by the state.. Speaking about the referendum preparations, Nurlan Abdirov emphasized the lack of citizens’ complaints.

The Observer Team included parliamentarians from of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives from the IPA CIS Council Secretariat, including IIMDD experts.
