Ivan Mushket Took Part in International Conference “Post-Soviet Space and External Actors”

On 24 March 2021, the international scientific conference “Post-Soviet Space and External Actors” was held in person and via videoconferencing.

The conference was organized by the Centre for Party-Political Research of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Branch of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation with the participation of the Institute of Socio-Political Research of the

Federal Center of Theoretical and Applied Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and the Russian State University for the Humanities.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations Ivan Mushket made a speech at the event. He told about the peculiarities of monitoring elections and referendums by the CIS Mission and the IPA CIS Observer Team and compared the methods and practices of international observation by the CIS Mission and other monitoring structures operating in the post-Soviet space. Ivan Mushket paid special attention to the problem of double standards and violations of the fundamental principles of international observation by international organizations established outside the Commonwealth.
