Tavricheskiy Youth Club Held Discussion on Impact of Media on Trust in Institution of Elections

On 7 November, within the framework of the international research to practice conference “30 Years of International Election Observation in the CIS: Experience and Practical Results” a session of the International Youth Discussion Club “Tavricheskiy” was held on “Mass Media and Their Impact on the Formation of Voter Confidence in the Institution of Elections and Referendums: Youth’s View”.

The meeting was organized by the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), co-organizers: Saratov State Law Academy and the Ural State Law University named after V.F. Yakovlev.

More than 450 students, postgraduates, young scientists from higher educational institutions of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the mixed format session.

The club meeting was also participated by experts such as heads of election administration bodies, public associations, lecturers of higher education institutions-partners of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council, staff members of the IPA CIS IIMDD and its offices in Baku, Yerevan and Bishkek.

The results of the club meeting were summarized by Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the IPA CIS IIMDD, Doctor of Law, Professor Ivan Mushket.

The expressed opinions will be forwarded to the participants of the conference “30 Years of International Election Observation in the CIS: Experience and Practical Results” and will be included in its final resolution.
