An inception meeting of IPA CIS observers took place in Minsk

Yuriy Vorobyov, the coordinator of the team of observers, Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation , informed the participants of the meeting about the plans for the next few days.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council provided information about the membership of the group.

Andrey Baranov, the Director of the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic and Parliamentary Process informed about the individual routes for observers.

Meetings with the head of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus, the Head of the Council of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, candidates for presidency and their representatives, heads of observers from international organizations are scheduled as a part of short-term monitoring.

The team was composed of 40 international observers from 7 member states of the IPA CIS (the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan,the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan). Among them there are deputies and representatives of the supreme legislative bodies, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Alexey Sergeev, experts from the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic and Parliamentary Process and the members of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council.
